The Brandon-Evansville baseball team opened up a 7-0 lead after three innings of their Friday contest against Pelican Rapids and went on to post a 7-1 victory over the Vikings.  Brady Perleberg (6IP, 0ER, 2H, 9K) was the winning pitcher and Landon Sullivan struck out the side in the seventh inning.

The Chargers took an early 1st inning lead when Carter White and Riley Perleberg scored with the help of Desmond White’s RBI single, staking B-E to an early 2-0 lead.  The Chargers added 5 runs in the third with key hits coming from Sullivan, Lucas Fuller, Brady Perleberg and a triple from Bryce Froemming

“We tried to be aggressive on the bases and it helped us generate some runs,” said Head Coach Brian Perleberg of Brandon-Evansville.  “Although we still made some mistakes here and there, I was pleased to see the guys looking to take the extra base when they could.”

Pelican Rapids scored in the top of the sixth when Estaban Garza scored on a fielder’s choice by Kaden Holt.

“Brady and Landon combined to give us the pitching performance we needed as they combined for 12 strikeouts, while working ahead of the hitters most of the night,” added Coach Perleberg.  “Their defense backed them up and helped keep Pelican Rapids from putting together any big offensive innings.”
