The Pelican Rapids Vikings saw their boys' basketball season come to an end in Thief River Falls on Monday night as the Prowlers took a 38-26 halftime lead and posted a 78-63 win over the Vikings in the Section 8AA quarterfinals.

Thief River Falls had too many weapons for the Vikings as their balanced scoring attack included 17 points form Jack Manning, 16 each from Jack Rosendahl and Jake Friedrich, and 14 from Caleb Rosendahl.

Ian Fahje led the Vikings with 15 points.  He was joined in double figures by Charlie Larson with 13 and Treyvon Benson with a dozen.  Hunter Williams finished with 9 points.

“We battled tonight but just weren’t consistent enough to stop them from going on some scoring runs in both halves,” commented Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “They hurt us with some timely offensive rebounds and we turned it over too much which allowed them to get into their transition offense where they are really good. We are proud of the fight our guys showed tonight and all season long. They were an awesome group to coach and our senior group will definitely be missed.”

Pelican Rapids ends their season with a 14-14 record.
