Pelican Rapids trailed Red Lake 37-33 at halftime, however, the Vikings battled back and put themselves in position to finish the night with a dramatic last second 3-point field goal to give them a 64-63 win.  Pelican Rapids will now play at Thief River Falls Saturday at 1:00pm.

“It was a fantastic opening round playoff game and an electric atmosphere in Red Lake tonight,” said Head Coach John Gullingsrud of the Vikings. “The game went back and forth throughout with both teams exchanging leads in the second half. Ian Fahje hit a shot to tie it with eight seconds to go, but Red Lake responded with the go ahead bucket with 2.1 seconds left. Fahje once again stepped up and hit the game winner with a three at the buzzer to send us to the next round. We are so proud of our group for never giving up and fighting until the end tonight.”

Charlie Larson led the Vikings with 17 points.  Fahje and Hunter Williams contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Ken Fox led Red Lake and all scorers in the game with 35 points.  Gerald Kingbird, Jr finished with 16 points.
