“The Comets were back on their heels throughout the game against the highly skilled and swift attacking Vikings,” said Hillcrest Head Coach Rod Jensen.  “The tolls of three games in four days, for our small squad, was definitely visible in our performance in today’s contest.”

Jesus Moreno scored just over eight minutes into the game to give Pelican Rapids the lead at 1-0.  Moreno then setup Sebastian Centeno for the second goal at the fifteen minute mark.  Hamsa Ishowa made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute as the Vikings went into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.  Centeno scored the first two goals of the second half to complete his hat trick and then assisted on Moreno’s second goal of the day for a 6-0 Pelican Rapids lead.  The final goal was scored by Yahir Diaz with just under six minutes remaining in the game.

The Comets now 6-2-1, face off against Melrose at 4:30PM on Thursday, while the Vikings host St. Cloud Cathedral on Thursday at 3:30pm.
