“After losing basically all of last season to the pandemic, we are excited to take the field again,” said Johnson.  “We have a good mix of core guys returning from the last few seasons and some new faces who are looking to make an impact at the varsity level.  This team has a strong work ethic and a drive to improve every day.  These attributes will be key coming off the COVID shortened season.”

Weston Funk, Isaac Olson and Justin Verdorn will serve as team captains for the Vikings.  Johnson is expecting newcomers Peyton Blakeway (SO, IF) and Luke Sjolie (FR, P/IF) to step in and play.

Johnson looks for Perham, DGF and Barnesville to be the top teams in the always tough Heart O’ Lakes Conference.  Long time Pelican Rapids Coach Steve Babb will serve as Assistant Coach.
